Dr. Enoch Kusi Asare holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree from the ³Ô¹ÏÍø. He also holds MBA/MS (Accounting) degrees from the same University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has been with ³Ô¹ÏÍø since Fall 2019. Before joining the ³Ô¹ÏÍø faculty, Dr. Asare was with Texas A & M University (Texarkana) as Assistant Professor of Accounting.
Dr. Asare’s research interests are in behavioral, management, and international accounting. His behavioral and management accounting research is primarily in performance management, where he focuses on topics such as (but not limited to) the work engagement of accountants, leadership behaviors of accountants, management control systems, and coping strategies among accountants. In the international accounting research stream, he focuses on the role of culture and management control systems in attracting financing for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) in developing economies.
Dr. Asare has published in several accounting and business journals. His other publications have appeared in a book, book chapters, as well as several conference presentations and proceedings.
Why did you become a professor? I have passion for teaching and research.
What do you enjoy most about teaching? Explaining complex, yet fundamental accounting concepts to students.
What do you hope students gain from your courses? An appreciation of the importance of accounting in organizations and society.
What did you do prior to entering academia? I practiced accounting for close to 10 years.
What are you passionate about outside of the University? Church activities.
What are your research interests? Behavioral, managerial, and international accounting.
